Daniela Denby-Ashe from North & South (based on the Elizabeth Gaskell novel).

 

 

The pose was a little different from others I have chosen here, but I really loved her expression. A lot of painting over was done here—especially in the background. I also altered the shadow on her neck, because it just didn't look right.

The photo is so blurry and lacking in detail, so the subject is difficult to recognize—but yep, that's North & South's Richard Armitage, once again. I was curious to see if I could do something with such a low-quality photo. (Photo © Andy McCartney)

 

The only thing to do with an image this blurry seemed to be to blur it even more—I went for an extremely painterly look. Highlights were added to the face and body, focus was blurred in the shirt, and the shadowed part of the face and figure was changed to a cool color.
