There's no use explaining the images you see here too thoroughly. They are a cross between "photo retouching" and "digital art," I suppose, and not meant to be taken too seriously! I got carried away making them, and so decided that I wanted to showcase them on this site. You'll notice that among this collection of works are a really high percentage of portraits of the actors from Phantom of the Opera (Gerard Butler) and North & South (Richard Armitage, Daniela Denby-Ashe). That's because many were originally designed as avatars and sigs for my sister site, which focuses strongly on these two fandoms.

In many cases I'm (consciously or unconsciously) trying to emulate oil paint or acrylics—but not always! Sometimes I just have fun and play around with different techniques. It's also worth noting that at this time I'm only using the stock brushes and filters that come with Photoshop CS2.

I decided to show "before" and "after" images on these pages. The alterations made to some of the photos might not necessarily be recognized or understood without an opportunity to see what the picture looked like before the Photoshop work was done.
